This was a gift from a friend of mine - a birthday treat out to the northern coastline. My birthday is in November and we decided to wait for sunshine - it was wonderful!

How can this be June?

The weather is not June-like.

No sun; pouring rain.

I almost failed at the first hurdle and forgot to post today. So here is a somewhat uninspiring haiku - very British. About the weather. I'm exhausted. Lots of work. Not enough sleep. And far too much rain!

Courage

Everyone is weak

And tries to hide their weakness.

Who dares to confess?

My first blog post. I am intending to chronicle my life day by day, in haiku. A short, concise little form of poetry, perfect for our busy lives. Some days (like today) my haikus will be deep. Some days they will be shallow. I am making no promises. But I will try to post daily.

Today's post was inspired by a chat with a friend. I became aware of how much I seek to hide my weaknesses, projecting an image of the person I want others to believe me to be, aware of how inferior I feel compared with them. But they are all doing the same! If we are not careful, we end up with masquerades, charades and never get through to the truth.

I am a great fan of truth. And as a Christian I want to live in an open, honest manner, not hiding my weaknesses. I'm not very good at it though.
